Klang, 28 August 2021 - Adoption of halal logistics in supply chain management is extensively gaining attention, underpinned by the booming of e-commerce transaction in Malaysia and an exponential increase in the demand for halal certified products across the world. To provide the students and general public alike a general understanding on the concept of halal logistics or halal supply chain, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (“UTAR”) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (“CMILT”) had jointly organized a webinar titled “Discover Halal Logistics And Practices” on 28 August 2021 (Saturday) from 10am to 12pm.
Being one of the first third-party logistics providers in the country to be certified for halal Halalan-Toyyiban MS 2400-2:2010 Malaysian Standard, we are honored to be invited to share insights and add a practical perspective into how best practices and the stringent regulatory processes being implemented to maintain the integrity of the warehousing and distribution services for halal products as well as the market expectation and prospects of the halal logistics. Representing CJ Century were Wan Zanil Hairiz Bin Harun, Director of Marketing and Solutions and Mohd Sofian Bin Muhamad Yusof, Assistant General Manager of Quality Management.
Open to the students of UTAR, members of CMILT and public, the webinar covered all aspects of halal logistics within Malaysia and abroad, particularly the recommended best practices to build a strong compliance across the operations and management of halal logistics and distribution. Moderated by Puan Nurulfaraiza bt Ariffin, Lecturer of Faculty Science, UTAR (Kampar Campus), the online panel discussion was also joined by Dato’ Muhammad Muhiyuddin, the President of CMILT as well as Dr. Adam Mohd Saifuddin, Associate Professor in School of Technology Management and Logistics, Universiti Utara Malaysia, collectively sharing insights into their fields with a total number of 140 participants.
